Pumpkin Decorating

A no-carve pumpkin party for fall birthdays, Halloween parties, and harvest gatherings. Kids decorate with paint, adhesive gems, and glitter instead of a knife — which means a 2-year-old and a 10-year-old can sit at the same table, and the pumpkins survive the whole season instead of three days.

Why no-carve

Carving is a parent activity that kids watch. Somebody holds the knife, somebody scoops, and the birthday kid mostly waits. It also puts a hard floor on the age range and gives you a pumpkin that is caving in by the weekend.

Decorating flips that. Every kid works on their own pumpkin the entire time, at whatever level they are capable of. There is nothing sharp on the table, nothing to supervise, and the finished pumpkins go straight onto the porch and stay there through Halloween.

Paint

Acrylics that actually stick to a pumpkin, in a palette that reads on orange and on white.

Gems and rhinestones

Adhesive-backed, in every size. The station the youngest kids never leave.

Glitter and metallics

A typical 90-minute pumpkin party runs like this. The drying break in the middle is deliberate — it is the natural moment for cake.

Frequently asked questions

Is there any carving?

No. This is a no-carve party — no knives, no scooping, no wet pumpkin guts. That is what makes it safe down to age 2 and what makes cleanup fast.

How young can kids be?

Ages 2 and up. Toddlers do gems and simple paint dots; school-age kids take on patterns, faces, and detail work. It scales unusually well across a mixed-age group, which is why it works for a family gathering and not just a kids' party.

How long do the pumpkins last?

A decorated, uncarved pumpkin keeps for weeks — usually the rest of the season. That is the practical advantage over carving, where you get a few days before it collapses.

Can we do this outdoors?

It is designed for outdoors. Backyards, patios, and driveways all work. We bring table coverings either way.

When is this theme available?

September through Halloween. Fall weekends book out early — we recommend reserving by mid-September for an October date.

Does it work for a school or preschool event?

Yes. Fall festivals, room-parent events, and preschool harvest parties are a regular use for this one. Tell us your group size and we'll scope it.
