Private Art Lessons · Los Angeles
Real instruction. In your home. From a credentialed art educator.
Weekly or recurring private art lessons, taught at your home by Elena Marmol — a fine artist with a Master's in Art Education from the University of Seville. For kids who want to develop real skills, teens building portfolios, and adults who always wanted to learn.

Who it's for
Kids (ages 5+)
Building real foundational skills: drawing, color, composition, painting techniques. Beyond what they get at school art class.
Teens
Portfolio prep for arts magnet schools, summer programs, or college applications. Or just serious skill-building.
Adults
Beginners through intermediate. People who say “I'd love to paint” but never had a teacher who could actually meet them where they are.
Homeschool families
Recurring weekly art curriculum integrated with your homeschool schedule.
Small groups (2–5 students)
Sibling pairs, friend groups, or homeschool co-ops.
What makes this different
This isn't a paint-by-numbers craft session. Elena's Master's in Art Education means lessons are structured curriculum, not improvisation:
- Skill progression — drawing fundamentals → color theory → composition → medium-specific techniques
- Real mediums — graphite, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, oil (age-appropriate)
- Critique and feedback — actual instructor feedback, not just “great job!”
- Long-term portfolio — students build a body of work over months
- Bilingual — instruction in English or Spanish at no extra cost
Pricing
We strongly recommend our structured programs for most kids — better per-session value, real progression, and meaningful outcomes. Single lessons are great as a trial or for kids who can't commit to a full program right now.

How it works
- 1
Free 15-minute consultation
We talk goals, age, and schedule. For kids, this is also a chance for them to meet Elena.
- 2
We design a curriculum
Based on the student's level and goals. Kids working on portrait skills get one path; adults learning watercolor landscapes get another.
- 3
Weekly lessons at your home
Same time each week works best. We bring all supplies. You provide a table and a clear surface.
- 4
Progress reviews every 4–6 weeks
Where the student is, what's clicking, what to focus on next.
What people say
“My 14-year-old wants to apply to LACHSA. Elena has been doing weekly portfolio prep with him for four months and his work is unrecognizable from when they started. She knows exactly what those programs are looking for.”
“Best decision I made for my daughter's 7th birthday. Elena set up in our backyard — drop cloths, apron-tying, the whole thing — and ten girls sat down and actually painted for ninety minutes straight. Real instruction, not a craft. Three of the moms texted me afterwards asking for her info.”
“We did the Sensory Fun theme for the twins' 4th and I genuinely don't know how Elena kept eight four-year-olds focused that long. They came home with framed paintings and not a single meltdown.”
